Mixtapes / stuffwithsynths

I like post-punk. I like blips and bleeps and proto-electro. I like things with synthesizers and keyboards, especially Wurlitzers, but you don't hear those too often anymore. I like the Sound, Magazine, Fad Gadget, New Order, Gary Numan, Perrey & Kingsley, the Kano from the 80s, Pet Shop Boys, Visage, Ultravox, Television, Gang of Four, various italo-disco things, and so on.

This mixtape is an attempt to highlight some of the electronic/synth (note: no drum 'n' bass/house/etc) stuff that might have slipped through the radar. I don't think all of these bands/acts are necessarily ready for the jump to record label, but I think they've all got potential.

Please also check out stop-eject. They're not on this mixtape because they don't really 'fit' musically, but they're worth a listen if you happen to like post-punk stuff. http://orangeunsignedact.co.uk /acts/stop-eject

[also, the bands on my mixtape whose names don't appear are http://orangeunsignedact.co.uk /acts/the-coolness (#2) and http://orangeunsignedact.co.uk /acts/arcadeyouth (#9) and http://orangeunsignedact.co.uk /acts/kovak (#10)]
